Columbus is software for travel companies - tour operators, DMCs, and agencies - to run day-to-day operations: customers, trip planning, costing, quotes, supplier bookings, and accounting.
How Columbus thinks about a sale
- Customer - who is travelling or buying.
- Trip - the sales engagement (inquiry through confirmation).
- Trip option - a priced version of the trip (e.g. 7 days vs 10 days).
- Itinerary - what happens each day (stays, transfers, activities).
- Costing - what you pay suppliers and your margins.
- Quote - the price you offer the customer.
- Invoices & vouchers - billing the customer and confirming with suppliers.

This guide is for people using Columbus in the browser - sales, operations, and finance teams. It does not cover installation, APIs, or developer setup.
Where to start
- 1
Read Your first trip if you are new - it walks through customer → trip → option → editor.
- 2
Browse Modules in the sidebar (same names as in the app menu) for deep dives on each area.
- 3
Use Step-by-step guides for full processes like quote to invoice.
- 4
Check FAQ when you have a specific question.
Who sees what?
- Owners and admins see all trips and records in the company.
- Managers and users usually see only trips assigned to their team (e.g. Inbound, Europe).
- If you belong to more than one company, use the company switcher in the header - see Switching companies.
