A trip option is one priced version of a trip. Example: the same customer might compare a 7-day cultural tour and a 10-day adventure - each is a separate option with its own itinerary, costing, and quote.
What you can do
- Create multiple options per trip
- Mark one option as the default for quick access
- Set travel dates when the customer confirms (optional during early proposal)
- Duplicate an option to create a variant without losing the original
- Track option status: draft → costing → quoted → sent → confirmed
How to work with options
- 1
Open a trip from the Trips list.
- 2
On the trip detail page, see all options for that engagement.
- 3
Click New option or Duplicate on an existing one.
- 4
Open the Trip Editor to build days, itinerary, and costing.
- 5
When the customer chooses, set dates and move status toward confirmed.
Tips
- Duplicate when options share most of the same route - change only what differs.
- Travel dates live on the option, not on individual days. Days stay as Day 1, Day 2 until you need calendar dates for operations.
- After you send a quote, price changes may need manager approval - protect what the customer already saw.
Common questions
When should I duplicate vs create a new option?
Duplicate when both options share a base (same hotels, similar route). New option when the proposal is completely different.
Do two options share the same itinerary?
No. Each option has its own days, items, and costing. Only shared locations and suppliers from your company library are reused.
Where do I edit the plan?
Open the option in the Trip Editor - see Trip Editor.
